Alex Masterson ~ BitchBoards
I attended the Feb. 2009 camp in Durango CO at Purgatory Mountain. I went to this camp thinking I would just learn to stand up correctly and make it down the mountain... but instead I left with so much more. About 4 years ago, I had gotten hurt and had to have Bi-lateral knee surgery and thought that I would never be active again. About 2 days before I left for the BitchBoards I was finally cleared to start strenuous activities again. I went to CO with fear and when I got there that fear was quickly subsided. Alex had arranged for out instructors to be the amazing She Ride Coaches. These ladies truly have snowboarding in the hearts. They made you feel comfortable and turned your fears into a fun and exciting experience. For the first time in years I felt alive and it is all thanks to Alex, if it weren't for her amazing product "AWESOME BOARDS" and opportunity I would still be in a "stuck" state of mind. By day 2 I felt confidence that was overwhelming. As for day 3 it was bitter sweet, the last day on the mountain but the day for our "victory run". Day 3 was exceptionally important for me.... I had set a goal with the coach's and that was the day that I had achieved it... My goal was to hit a jump... and that I did.... I would not have had the confidence to attempt it if it wasn't for the amazing days prior building up to it. Along with learning to snowboard I gained amazing friends. Experiencing this trip has helped me realize what it is I love and what I want to do. Alex goes much further than just her camps, she is an amazing women who is an encouraging force now in my life. I truly know that there is someone in my life who not only believes in me but wants me to succeed. After this experience I have decided to move to CO and make my dreams reality and it is all thanks to BitchBoards. I will always ride BitchBoards.... and with great pride knowing that there is nothing to fear when it comes to snowboarding.... Just go to camp!!!! <3 Nat
